Sarkari Job Guide

Career Guides for Indian Government Jobs

About Sarkari Job Guide

Sarkari Job Guide is a free, visual resource built for aspirants preparing for Indian government exams. Every other site explaining these careers is a wall of text built for search rankings, not for understanding. We take a different approach.

Each career map covers the full 30-year arc of a government job: promotions, postings, salary at every stage, and the tradeoffs most other guides skip. Instead of covering the syllabus, we show you what your life will look like inside the role at year five, year fifteen, and year thirty.

Who builds this?

This project is designed and maintained by Gaurav Srivastava. It started as a personal design exercise, turning complex government career structures into clear visual maps, and grew into a resource used by aspirants across India.

What we cover

We focus on India's most-pursued government career paths across six major categories:

  • Railways: Station Master, Loco Pilot, and more
  • Banking: PO, Clerk, Specialist Officer tracks
  • Civil Services: IAS, IPS, IFS, and allied services
  • SSC: CGL, CHSL, MTS career progressions
  • Defence: Armed forces officer and non-officer tracks
  • PSU: Public sector undertaking careers

Our approach

Every career map on this site is researched from official government sources: pay commissions, DoPT orders, railway board circulars, and departmental promotion policies. We present this information visually so aspirants can make informed career decisions before investing years in exam preparation.

The site is available in both English and Hindi, and all content is free to access.
